Just like its 4-string counterpart, the Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones Signature Lake Placid Blue Gloss 5-String features a custom design based on the Rolling Stones bassist's preferred specs. The ash body is similar to Lakland's 55-60 models, but has more arched contours as well as more outspoken cutaways. The finish combines beautifully with the white pearl pickguard, matching headstock and chrome hardware, while the maple neck has not only been furnished with a matching fretboard with pearl block position markers, but has been set up by W-Distribution in Germany, who've used a special PLEK machine to fine-tune the stability, intonation and playing comfort. In terms of tone-shaping capabilities, the Lakland DJ-5 has been armed with two Lakland Vintage Single Coil pickups for well-balanced sound framed by a solid treble response and deep basses.
